If You Ever Feel Like Burning It All Down, I Highly Recommend You Do
Not literally. Please do not make the fire department part of your reinvention story!
I mean the other kind of burning it down. The kind where you finally look around at the life you built and are living, and admit that it does not feel like yours' anymore, or isn't what you wanted for yourself at this age.
The kind where staying the same starts to feel scarier than starting over.
Where you start imagining yourself, crazy to think about it, actually HAPPY.
I know that feeling, because I did it!
I looked around one day and realized I felt more myself when I was alone, I did not like the life I was leading and did not want to be this person anymore. I wasn't happy, I was grinding myself away every day with stress, feeling unloved, unfulfilled, and unhappy.
On the outside? It looked perfect. Beautiful actually. But I was miserable on the inside.
I had already tried so many things to repair it and make it what I wanted - to no avail. So I started at the top. I left an unhealthy marriage. I quit my corporate job. I sold my house. I moved. I left friendships and relationships that drained me. I let go of the version of my life that looked so lovely and incredible from the outside and started rebuilding one that felt truly honest and wholesome on the inside.
Was it tidy? Absolutely not.
Was it easy? Also no.
Was it worth it?
OH MY GOSH YES. Every uncomfortable, terrifying, uncertain second of it!
Spilled Glitter Started Long Before the Fire
Spilled Glitter Boutique began in 2012 as a jewelry-making hobby. I loved creating things. I loved finding beautiful pieces. Most of all, I loved seeing the tiny shift that happened when a friend put something on and immediately felt a little more like herself or just loved the way it sparkled.
But somewhere along the way, I changed too. Life changed. My priorities changed. What I wanted my days to feel like changed. I reached a point where I could not keep building a future inside a life that I no longer wanted to be a part of.
So I stopped trying to make the old life work.
I started fresh.
Starting Over Is Not the Same as Starting From Nothing
When you rebuild, you do not lose everything you were.
You bring the lessons. The strength. The creativity. The sense of humor you developed because crying every day would ruin your mascara.
You bring the parts of yourself you had forgotten. For me, that meant returning to the heart of Spilled Glitter.
This was never supposed to be a business that made women feel like they needed to become someone else. It was never supposed to be about pressure, perfection or convincing someone to buy something that did not feel right.
And let me be very clear: this is not an MLM. I am not going to ask you to join my team, host a party or message five friends from high school.
Spilled Glitter is a real boutique with handpicked clothing, jewelry, boots, bags, hats, gifts and accessories. The style leans Western because I love a great boot, a little fringe and pieces with personality. But it is approachable Western, not head-to-toe costume Western.
It is affordable because I want shopping to feel fun, not financially irresponsible.
It is pressure-free because confidence cannot be forced.
Sometimes Clothes Are Just Clothes
I know a new outfit cannot fix your life.
A pair of boots will not make the hard decision for you. A sparkly necklace will not write the resignation letter. A cute bag will not pack your house.
But the right piece can remind you of something important.
It can remind you that you are still in there.
It can help you walk into a room with your shoulders back. It can make an ordinary Tuesday feel like a tiny celebration. It can give you one small, visible way to choose yourself.
Sometimes that is where rebuilding starts.
Not with a dramatic announcement. Not with a perfect plan.
With one honest decision.
One boundary.
One brave step.
One outfit that feels more like the woman you are becoming than the woman you were expected to be.
This Version of Spilled Glitter Is Personal
I want Spilled Glitter to feel like the opposite of intimidation.
You do not need to know the trends. You do not need the perfect body, the perfect life or the perfect reason to wear something fun. You do not need permission to add a little sparkle.
You can shop online from your couch. You can come see me at a vendor show or craft fair. You can ask what looks good together. You can try something unexpected. You can laugh. You can leave empty-handed. You can come back when you are ready.
My goal is simple: every interaction with Spilled Glitter should leave you feeling a little more confident than you did before.
Because women deserve spaces that remind them they are allowed to rediscover themselves, rebuild themselves and celebrate every chapter.
Especially the chapters they had to fight for.
You Do Not Have to Burn Down Everything
Maybe your life does not need a full demolition.
Maybe you just need to stop saying "yes" when you mean "no".
Maybe you need to leave the job, make the appointment, take the trip, wear the boots, start the business or finally admit that what used to fit no longer does. (YES, GIRL!)
Maybe the next version of your life begins with one small choice that just feels like you're doing it for YOU.
Whatever your version of starting over looks like, I hope you remember this:
You are not too late.
You are not too much.
You are not selfish for wanting a life that feels like your own.
And you are absolutely allowed to shine while you build it.
Spilled Glitter is part boutique, part comeback story and part love letter to every woman who has ever looked around and thought, “This cannot be all there is.”
It is not.
Start again.
Wear the outfit.
Buy the boots if they make you feel unstoppable.
And if you spill a little glitter along the way, leave it there. It means you were brave enough to shine.
With love and a little sparkle,
♥ Amanda
